Breakthrough.
I'm a work-a-holic.
wow.
Go figure.
We fueled up at $2.939 / gal this morning for premium. and I thought to myself, "wow, that's cheap." And we got a free cup of coffee too. Go figure.
Exhausted.
What a week.
Boy am I tired.
I just spent the last 30 minutes boxing up my cube, packing up to move to the new space Monday. Heh, I wonder how many people in their Monday morning drowsiness will stumble into their old cubes.
The release last night was perfect. I don't think we've ever had one go as smoothly as it did last night. Zero errors - all the database scripts compiled, all the packages imported. No mistakes on our part and no mistakes on ops part. Well, yay for us. Really, we've come a long way since the Bearing Point days and everyone is noticing. Totally awesome for us.
We lost a valuable team member today, and I think his effects will soon be felt all over. I know the users will miss him; though, we all feel that it might just be what they needed to become more independent. Good thing is we're fully staffed now, signaling the end to awkward and uncomfortable interviews. (thank goodness!! And I thougth it was bad being the interviewee.) I just wish I had more confidence and knew that everything was gonna be alright. We should be. But Sigh. It was a big loss.
I have a bunch of meetings to look forward to next week and my yearly goals to write. Though, I should do them this weekend. Yes, I must make a good effort this weekend and come up with 3-4 solid goals.
I'm still around...
Yep, still around. Was off friday.. and swamped today.
I'm hoping it'll stop soon.

Things are falling into place!
I'm getting a laptop tomorrow, finally! And I just found out where my new cube will be. I'm getting a full sized, non retard one! At the end of the aisle, next to the window!! Yippie!
And, my row is right next to the kitchen.
Things are finally falling into place. :-)
This is the weirdest I've felt at work. Ever.
If you want to jazz up your working environment, have everyone come in in shorts and tee shirts. I'm in shorts, a tank top, and flip flops today and let me tell you, this is the weirdest I've felt at work. Ever.

Jury Duty
I received a notice in the mail a few days ago for jury duty. Not a formal request, but a questionnaire. I really hope I don't get selected. I just don't think I'd be the best person to decide the guilt or innocence of someone. Heh, I already feel bad for my perspective fellow jury members. I mean, most of the time, I can't even decide what I want to eat for dinner.

Coach Rules
So I had this old coach purse... The front was dirty and the seams inside were coming loose. For $20, Coach will take any item in and repair it. The repairs, they say, are actually free; you're just paying for shipping and handling. It's been about 3-4 weeks since I dropped it off.
I got a box from them today with what I thought was my purse all fixed up. But guess what, it ended up being a brand new purse. I mean, it's the same style, just that it's another one. A different one. A Brand New One. whooopie! :D New purse for me. It's even got the new purse smell.
who knew?
The inside of a blueberry isn't blue! What a sneaky little fruit. :)
Inexcusable!
There are just some things out there that's inexcusable in resumes. You heard me. It's true. No excuses. Zero tolerance.
Seriously...
1. Spelling mistakes. Why this one happens is beyond me. Have they never heard of spell check? Try it sometime. It's that little gray button with the checkmark and the little "ABC"
2. Grammar issues. Now granted, not everyone has perfect English. Still. The resume is your face to the world! (bit dramatic, isn't it) Get a friend to do you a favor and read over it for you. Oh? You already had a friend to read it? Well, time to get another friend then. Cuz that one there is out to screw you over.
3. Too much detail. Yes, I'm talking to you. You know who you are. No, we don't need to know every single thing you've ever done at a job. The presentation you put together for your boss last week, the coffee he made you fetch the month before. Really, we don't need to know it. No one cares. Stick to the basics and to the high-level points. And, please, for goodness sake, target the resume to the job you're applying for. 4. Font size. Not everyone has the luxury of killing trees. Please make the font large enough so that I can read it at 100% on my 20" monitor. Well, I could just be cranky because my printer is broken today. Nah, that can't be it.5. Background color. Never in a million years did I ever think I'd be typing this. Guys, background color is NOT GOOD. I wish I was making this up. I actually saw one today where the entire resume was in a table.... and the table cell had a gray background. Please someone help me out. What was the person thinking?!
oh yay!
