Let's try to keep some perspective people..
It's August. August 22 to be exact. We were walking around Tysons II and I see something that stops me in my tracks. The Christmas display in Neiman Marcus. Goodness! It's not even Labor Day yet. Summer isn't officially over until September 21. And there are Christmas ornaments littered across the lower level. Wow. What happened to Halloween? And Thanksgiving? Now granted, Thanksgiving isn't the traditional commercialized event as some of the other infamous holidays, I guess unless you're Williams Sonoma.. But really, where are the Halloween decorations? I dunno, am I the only one thinking this? I expect a certain order to the commercialism that is this country, but come on.The closing ceremony is on which makes me sad. I've been glued to the television this Olympics, starting from the opening ceremony on 8/8/08, to Phelps incredible 8 gold medals.. to women's ping pong.. even weight lifting! Well, that was Vadim's addiction, not mine. Literally, I've been capturing every moment my limited spare time can stand. Good job Beijing - for actually making it interesting for me to watch this year. Ah, well, off to wait another 4 years.. and hello London.
